MethodologyIn the same class, pieces are rehearsed and musical language and instruments are taught. To be able to do this with a good level of success, a very specific methodology is required, where the content and the work to be done are very clear and organized, which integrates theory with its practical application and which allows, in short, to combine a fun activity, such as playing an instrument, with the achievement of the objectives already stated. Our method, with everything it entails, the lessons, the examples, their order, etc., has been developed specifically for our classes, after a long experience in the world of music and musical training.
Each level comprises a series of teaching units that include lessons, exercises and pieces in an order of increasing difficulty. Each student is provided with the material corresponding to each unit and each instrument, which includes the scores and audio files necessary for both the class and for studying at home.
The successive exercises progressively present new concepts and skills or a higher level of difficulty. In the classes, explanations of these new concepts alternate with the practice of exercises or songs that exemplify them. Always playing and applying what has been learned at the moment.
Objectives1. Play and know the resources of the instrument with a level of competence that allows playing in the different styles of modern popular music (classical, pop, etc.).
2. Read and write sheet music up to a certain level.
3. Read and write sheet music to accompany in different styles.
4. Understand the functioning of musical language and harmony for its application when arranging, making versions of songs or composing.
5. Perform a varied repertoire that serves to learn examples and resources of the different musical styles.
6. Achieve a certain capacity for musical improvisation.
8. Get used to musical practice by performing in concerts.
7. Have the necessary resources for evolution and improvement through personal work.
Our teaching is organised into levels, depending on the specific abilities or level of dedication of the students. Each level comprises a series of teaching units that must be completed in order to access the next level.
Attention to diversity and students with special educational needsThe format of our classes requires a well-organised and concise method with regard to the content to be covered at any given time, but, in any case, it also takes into account that the pace of learning of the students is different depending on the specific qualities or level of dedication of each one. The teaching units include, working on the same subject, different options with different levels of difficulty. They also include reinforcement exercises to be carried out only when considered necessary. Students with special educational needs are considered to be those who, for whatever reason, need a specific adaptation of the content or methodology. In these cases, the pace of completing units and levels will vary and will depend on the adaptation made for each student.

Do I have to know music theory?
Of course not. Music theory was previously used to learn musical language. We learn the musical language necessary to advance in learning, it does not have to be a classical score, that will depend on the level we are at.
What style of music do you play?
ALL STYLES, we work on the different styles that are common in modern music. Depending on what we are going to learn at that moment, we will choose one style or another, one song or another. It is about acquiring resources so that outside of the classroom the student can play anything. Even so, the students' suggestions are listened to and considered.
What is musical improvisation?
We could say that in music we improvise when we play or sing something we haven't read or learned, when, knowing the "rhythmic, harmonic and stylistic environment" in which we make music, we have the resources to create music at the moment.
Throughout history, musicians have improvised more or less according to the circumstances: a baroque harpsichordist chose, just like a modern guitarist, the arrangement and rhythm of the chords to accompany according to the harmonic cipher, or a classical violinist could improvise the cadence of a concert, showing his virtuosity and his knowledge of music in a similar way to that of a rock guitarist in a solo...
In short, it is about being able to make music (accompany, play improvised solos...) from the understanding of its elements: rhythm, form, melody-harmony relationships, stylistic aspects...
Can I learn as an adult?
Of course! Sometimes we think that adults have a slow progress in learning, which is normal for children to start with. This is not the case. It is clear that patience is needed, but you don't have to be a slave to your instrument to progress. The format of our classes makes it easier to learn, since we rely on the group and we see the results very quickly.
